About Philip Mix
Artist Statement
I have been painting in oils since I was eleven. I am now almost seventy, and spend more time in my studio than I probably should.
Ideas are like stones skipped upon a lake, each touch becomes a piece of art, with often multiple ripples following the last. Once it has dropped into watery depths , another stone may be cast with anticipation.
